Tāhūrangi – the new home for online teaching resources

Tāhūrangi – our new digital home for curriculum content, teaching resources, and news – is now live!

We know that finding teaching resources suitable for your classroom has been harder than it needs to be, so Tāhūrangi is designed to make that search much quicker and easier.

Tāhūrangi is full of the features you would expect of a modern curriculum hub, making it easy to efficiently find, organise, download, and share quality resources and teaching materials.

Several key benefits will help you when planning teaching and learning:

  • Bilingual te reo Māori/English search functions, so you can search using one language and find results in both.
  • A range of search filters, so that you can find the resources you need, fast.
  • The ability to quickly download resources.

Additionally, you can sign in to Tāhūrangi using your Education Sector Logon to access additional features personalised to your account. You can:

  • organise and save resources to create your own collections, which you can easily access later
  • share those collections with other users that have a Tāhūrangi profile
  • save your language preferences.

The content available on Tāhūrangi now is just the start. We are still moving all the suitable content from our existing websites onto the new platform, once it has been reviewed to ensure it is relevant to your teaching and learning. We’ll also be fixing a few minor technical issues we’ve identified, which are explained in more detail on Tāhūrangi. In future, all our new curriculum content, resources, and teaching materials will also be released on the new platform.

Going forward, we will have an ongoing review process for Tāhūrangi to ensure that all materials and resources stay up-to-date and aligned with any future changes to curriculum and assessment.

What this means for TKI

Eventually, Tāhūrangi will replace TKI so that you have one place to go to find the content that supports your mahi. As Tāhūrangi becomes the main home for our curriculum materials and resources, we’ll be making some changes to the way you access TKI.

Once we complete the process of reviewing and moving content from our TKI sites, those sites will be made unavailable. We will let you know before that happens so you have time to make the move to Tāhūrangi.

While the review process continues, you might notice some changes to the way you access TKI sites. For example, you might be redirected from Tāhūrangi to the existing site if the content hasn’t already been moved.

Not everything currently on TKI will be moved onto Tāhūrangi. Content that is old or out-of-date will be made unavailable. These decisions are being made as a part of the ongoing content review process, making sure that the resources on Tāhūrangi are still relevant to your teaching and learning.
